This year marks the 35th anniversary of Gallery Sanskriti. Since its founding in 1990, the gallery has been a prominent force in contemporary Indian art, committed to showcasing serious and meaningful artistic practice.
Over the past three decades, Sanskriti has consistently embraced both established masters and emerging talent through carefully curated exhibitions. From legends like Bikash Bhattacharjee, Ganesh Pyne, Akbar Padamsee, K. Laxma Goud, Ramananda Bandyopadhyay, and Lalu Prasad Shaw to impactful art camps and pioneering workshops, Sanskriti has created platforms that nurture dialogue and innovation in the arts.
Notably, the gallery’s initiatives helped shape dynamic creative spaces like Art Ichol in Maihar and Kaee Contemporary in Kolkata.
As part of the 35th-anniversary celebration, Gallery Sanskriti will host a special exhibition at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity from October 24 to November 19, 2025.
The show will highlight works by modern masters as well as contemporary artists who have played a significant role in the development of Indian art.
